Hot herbal compressions (Thai “luk prakob”) are applied along the significant energy lines, respectively pressed directly on specified pressure points. Using moist heat, the pores open up and allow the herbals to unfold its potential. According to the teachings of Wat Po, the herbal compressions use a special mixture of: Thai Ginger (Zingiber Cassumunar), Kaffir Lime (Citrus Hystrix), Lemongrass (cymbopogon citratus) and Camphor (Cinnamomum Camphora). These ingredients can be diversified and additional fruits, herbs or leaves can be added. The herbal compress relaxes aching muscles, eases respiration through the use of aromatic camphor, and reduces tension through the heat and aromatic properties of the herbs used in the compress. Especially in cases of sprains, muscle pain, bruises and swellings, the use of Thai herbal compression is recommended.
